BIP39 Wordlist
Your 12-24 word recovery seed phrase, likely derived from the Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 39 (BIP 39), uses mnemonic phrases—easy-to-remember words—as backup in case your wallet fails. This method is common in many wallets, although it’s not the sole method for coin recovery. The mnemonic words come from a predetermined list of 2048 words, which can be accessed or listed as follows.
NOTE: The BIP 39 word list isn’t numbered. The list provided below follows the default line numbering system used in GitHub where it’s hosted. For programming purposes that convert these to binary using a zero-based numbering system, the list starts at “0” (abandon) and ends at “2047” (zoo). Below is the BIP 39 word list if utilizing indexed numbers and/or 11-bit binary conversion.
